Summer months at 5c

There is often a miss-representation when it comes to working in an IT office that we’re all sat in darkened offices with blacked out windows frantically tapping away at keyboards, and we all have an intolerance to the summer sun.

This isn’t the case, just like your average Benidorm-visiting-tourist we too like a bit of the yellow stuff and therefore we too were saddened by the realisation that summer was indeed…over.

However, as winter draws in like your favourite festive slipper sock, it’s an appropriate time to reflect on what’s happened during those summer months. Here at 5c, it’s been a season of expanse, server installs, GDPR compliancy, awards and much more.

With an ever-increasing customer base, we’ve been busy during July and August with server installs; from the smaller SME micro-servers to enterprise level SAN and multiple host setups. Every job has been a passion project for the engineers involved and with many more projects on the horizon I know they’re excited with what’s to come.

Cloud technology has been on the minds of everyone at 5c over the last few months, explicitly hosting servers. This technology is readily becoming more popular for SME businesses, and it is something we’re very keen on working with. The technology is becoming more and more affordable so the prospect of having the majority of your network infrastructure ‘out of house’ and secure appeals to many people. Remember, if you’re thinking of getting rid of the old and looking for the new, give us a call for a no obligation chat.

With GDPR policies and Cyber Essentials becoming swear words in many companies it’s been an active time when it comes to data protection over the last few months. Although it’s been a paper-work extravaganza we’ve always looked at the benefits of these policies and where they benefit, not only us but also the customer.

With all of this and much more occurring over the last few months it’s been an exciting time to be part of 5c and as we pack away our factor 50 and inflatable garden furniture we look to the future and continue with being the leading IT support company in Powys.
