Everything went as 5C had planned with all work being carried out in an extremely professional and timely manner. 5C continue daily to support our IT requirements/needs on our Marrill (Powys) Limited site continuing their exemplary service.

The Brief

Marrill is at the forefront of press tooling, design, and component manufacture in the UK today. After the completed acquisition of the Llanfyllin factory by Marrill Group Ltd, we were instructed as Marrill’s IT Support partner – including support and management of the IT systems switchover.

Our Solution

We worked to procure and configure new server, network and security equipment whilst implementing and migrating existing cloud services. All pre-configurations were completed in our workshops, prior to site delivery and installation.

Working directly with Marrill and the previous IT Support team, we orchestrated the switch over and implementation of the new equipment, outlined ongoing support and got to understand the existing systems that would continue to be in operation.

The onsite project began on a Friday evening with the removal of all legacy owned security and network appliances. We then installed and completed configuration and testing of all new network, server, and security devices.

Our team worked throughout the weekend to migrate all data, users, policy configurations and services to new Marrill systems. All user endpoints and peripherals were migrated between the old and new systems following stringent checks. Each device was checked to ensure compliancy and functionality. A few late nights were also required to minimise and eventually eliminate downtime for Marrill staff, come their return to work on the Monday morning.

Returning to site on Monday morning we assisted with any snagging, questions, and additional requests that arose.

As with all projects we maintained a presence on site until all systems and users were confirmed to be fully functional.

CONCLUSION

The site now operates within an up-to-date, suitable infrastructure and we continue to support Marrill Group Ltd’s Powys site, managing all systems, users, network and services.
