Microsoft 365 – Bringing your remote workers together!

Here at 5C we are big fans of Microsoft and in particular - Microsoft Teams.

This has been the main app we have used in our business to keep communication lines open and ensure everyone is working together.

We all know that our businesses success relies on our team’s efforts and effective teamwork.

We’re all familiar with Microsoft’s Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) but after a recent shift to remote working we have undergone another substantial change to the Microsoft 365 products we are utilising.  These products are enabling us to take advantage of powerful tools such as SharePoint and Teams, that are not only reducing our need to multiply tools but are also making data security and policy much more accessible.

Now in the world where businesses need their set up to allow anyone to work from anywhere at any time - this has become paramount for the future of business, no matter which sector you work within.

Remote working can be a challenge and as we adjust to the new norm, as with any change, it can be onerous. You may be looking to bring some staff back into the workplace, whilst others continue to work remotely. As a business who rely on their team working together this may create further challenges.

The good news is that over the past few months we have helped many businesses to thrive by embracing remote working.

Many of our customers have done so by utilising existing Microsoft 365 products along with Microsoft’s Teams platform which is designed to boost collaboration and communication within the team making working together easier whilst being apart.

Key benefits this can offer you;

  •  Video calls and live chat.

  • Internal/External meetings – whether on a 1 -2-1 basis or larger group.

  • As you would expect – it is fully integrated with all other Microsoft apps.

  • Reduce e-mail inbox sizes as most internal messages are conducted via Teams.

  • Better collaboration and increased visibility when working on projects with the team.

  • Most importantly – everything is in one place. You no longer need to waste time looking for info on multiple platforms.

  • Integration of other Microsoft features (Microsoft To-do, Microsoft Project, Microsoft list etc.)

It’s essential to get Teams set up properly and to train your staff to use it. This will ensure they engage fully and make the most of the benefits from the get-go.

a summary of the main things we utilise through teams at 5C;

Help us to project manage more effectively:

Teams gives the option to separate conversations and channels easily, meaning you can focus on the project you are working on; you can view messages, documents and meetings related to that specific project only. This results in being much more productive as it reduces the time and hassle of scrolling through inbox’s etc. to find all relevant info needed at that point.

Easy communication:

We no longer have to rely on just e-mail or phone. With Teams we can send an instant message to all or any individual team member. It proves productive in getting their attention by giving them a @mention. It is also simple to use for video calls whether that be with a client or your team.

It’s really easy to use:

The interface is straightforward and intuitive – Microsoft have done a brilliant job. It is very easy to find the information you need and to move between different conversations or projects. Even if you’ve never used Teams before – you’ll soon pick it up.

Security and privacy:

Microsoft Teams, along with all other Microsoft 365 applications is fully GDPR compliant. UK companies’ data is only ever held in the UK and is fully auditable and reportable from a security and privacy policy standpoint.

If this is something you would like to discuss further, please get in touch for an informal chat regarding your requirements.

You may not be using Microsoft Teams in your business and you’d like to learn more about how it could help you. Maybe you are entitled to use it already but have never set it up or you may also already have the platform but are not utilising it fully within your business and would like some advice.

Whatever the reason may be, we are here to help.
